Who is behind I Collect Movie Posters.com?

I Collect Movie Posters.com is the brainchild of Jon R. Warren and was founded in 2000. Jon is the author of Warren's Movie Poster Price Guide and is recognized internationally as a leading expert in the field of movie posters. He has been a collector and merchant of movie memorabilia since the 1970s. In 1985, Jon published the first comprehensive pricing guide for original movie posters (a small booklet by James Dietz was published a year earlier, but it was not comprehensive). Warren's Movie Poster Price Guide, now in its sixth edition, is used worldwide by collectors to evaluate their movie posters. In 1992, Jon published Collecting Hollywood magazine, a publication

devoted to movie poster collecting and one of the first movie poster marketplaces (Movie Collector's World was the first and is still published today). Collecting Hollywood included sections of movie posters for sale, arranged alphabetically, with a dealer directory in the back. This was a unique approach to displaying collectibles advertisements at the time, because it made finding specific items easier than the old way of looking at each sellers individual lists. The magazine also included sections of Movie Posters Wanted and Movie Posters Sold. This magazine-based marketplace concept was the predecessor to the I Collect Movie Posters site, which seeks to provide an internet-based version of the original magazine concept.

Jon has had the collecting passion since childhood. At age 15, he had a rare stamp business, selling rare US commemoratives to collectors world-wide under the business name "Rarities, Inc." Collectors purchased thousands of dollars of rare stamps through the mail from Rarities, Inc. never knowing they were dealing with a teenager.

Besides authoring books about movie posters, he has also authored books on rare comic books, vintage paperbacks, and big little books. He served as editor of the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide from 1984 to 1992, and served as Senior Price Guide editor for Wizard: The Guide to Comics from 1993 to 2001.

Jon is now president of iGuide Media/2nd Markets, owner of this site and the I Collect family of collector sites. iCollectMoviePosters.com's goal is to be the hub of Movie Poster buying and selling on the internet. Through iCollectMoviePosters.com, members will be able to evaluate, authenticate, and trade over the Internet. The company's mission is to provide a dedicated marketplace for the Movie Poster Collecting Community.
